Comprehensive Automotive Mobility Solutions Course for Health Professionals (CAMS-HP)

This continuing education course contains a range of topics pertaining to personal automotive mobility solutions. It will assist the allied health care practitioner in understanding and advocating for individuals seeking automotive vehicle modification solutions, while also teaching practitioners about the unique process involved in evaluating, selecting and purchasing appropriate automotive options.

This course qualifies the attendee for .7 AOTA CEU, 7 CCMC CEH, 7 ADED CEH, 7 AKTA CEH and .6 RESNA CEU (by request only).

Instructor:

Amanda Plourde, COTA/L, CDI, CDRS

Amanda Plourde is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified Driving Instructor, and Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist with 26 years of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and 19 years of experience working in the field of driver rehabilitation providing clinical and behind-the-wheel evaluation and training.  She graduated 1993 from the New Hampshire Technical College in Claremont, NH and received her standard driver education certificate through Keene State College in 2000.

Amanda is the Vice Present of NETSEA, on that board she serves on the conference development committee and represents the Northeast ADED chapter.  She is a AAA Driver Improvement Program Certified Instructor.  Amanda is currently the President of the Northeast ADED chapter.  She served on the AOTA driving and community mobility specialty certification committee in 2004-2005.   Amanda has presented at many local NETSEA, ADTSEA and national ADED workshops and conferences, and presents to the Occupational Therapy programs at the University of New Hampshire and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.   

Amanda joined the outpatient neuro program at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in April 2014, to provide a comprehensive medically based driving program.  Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital’s driving program provides sedan and van driver evaluation, training, post adaptive equipment inspections and educational services to people of all ages and abilities to enhance community mobility and independence.

Activity Cancellation by the Provider
The Provider (NMEDA) reserves the right to cancel the course due to unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances at any time. However, NMEDA will not be responsible for nonrefundable airline and hotel reservations that a participant incurred due to cancellation of the course. NMEDA reserves the right to change a course date, location, or instructor.

With this in mind, we recommend that you include a cancellation clause when booking your flight or hotel reservations, or refrain from making the reservations until one week prior to the scheduled training.

Activity Cancellation by the Attendee
No refunds or transfers will be issued for course cancellations made by the attendee unless sufficient written notice is given.
